In 2010, the Company contributed $234 million to its funded defined benefit plans consisting of $144
million of cash and 3.59 million shares of Sunoco common stock valued at $90 million. The Sunoco common
stock contributed to the plans was liquidated by an independent investment manager and reinvested in
accordance with the targeted investment allocation of the plans. The liquidation of Sunoco common stock was
completed during 2011. The Company expects to make voluntary cash contributions of $80 million during 2012.
