Basis of Presentation: The accompanying consolidated financial statements
include the accounts of The Progressive Corporation, its subsidiaries and affili-
ate.
These financial statements should be read in conjunction with the complete
Consolidated Financial Statements, including the complete Notes to the Consoli-
dated Financial Statements, as well as Management’s Discussion and Analysis
of Financial Condition and Results of Operations and Supplemental Information,
which are included in Progressive’s 2010 Annual Report to Shareholders, which
is attached as an Appendix to Progressive’s 2011 Proxy Statement.
