first year of Q-HIP in 2004 are receiving a total of $6 million for actively working to implement
nationallyrecognizedcareandsafetypracticesthatcansavelives.Q-HIPhospitalsperformedabove
thenationalaverageonkeymeasures.In2005,45Virginiahospitals,whichaccountfor75percentof
Anthemmemberadmissionsinthestate,participateinQ-HIP.

QualityLeadershipCouncil,andhehelpeddevelopthecardiacmeasuresintheQ-HIPprogram.Dr.Brush
practicesatSentaraNorfolkGeneralHospital,whichwasamongthefirstparticipantsinQ-HIP.
