2004 was a satisfying year at ServiceMaster — both for what we
accomplished and for what it signified. We reported revenues of
$3.8 billion for the year, with earnings per share from continuing operations increasing, on a
comparable basis, nine percent on a five percent increase in revenues.
Moreover, we demonstrated that our business model is vibrant — with more opportunity
than even we realized. We have shown that we can make progress — innovate and create new
momentum for our brands, and we will continue on this course. There is no doubt that the
market will support additional growth. The customers are there and receptive to service
brands offering better solutions.
We have a plan for continuing our revenue and earnings performance and activating our
sizeable potential. Our plan is simple but tough.
We are generating growth, year after year,
with our leading brands in residential and
commercial services, by attracting new
customers into our healthy categories, by
winning customers away from competitors
and by better satisfying our customers
so they stay with us. Every day we get
closer to our ultimate goal: transforming
the experience of the home and busi-
ness owner.
“My customers want our
service scheduled around
their schedule.
