Market Information
Our Class A common stock, par value $0.01 per share, trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol VMW.
The following table sets forth the range of high and low sales prices of our Class A common stock on the New York Stock Exchange for the past two
years during the fiscal periods shown. Our Class B common stock is not publicly traded.
Holders
We had 52 holders of record of our Class A common stock, and one holder of record, EMC Corporation (“EMC”), of our Class B common stock as of
February 13, 2014.
Dividends
Subsequent to our initial public offering in August 2007, we have not declared or paid cash dividends on our common stock. We currently do not
anticipate declaring any cash dividends in the foreseeable future. Any future determination to declare cash dividends will be made at the discretion of our
board of directors, subject to the consent of the holders of our Class B common stock pursuant to our certificate of incorporation. Holders of our Class A
common stock and our Class B common stock will share equally on a per share basis in any dividend declared on our common stock by our board of
directors.
