counts 100% of Gap Inc. suppliers
in country as participants in
the program.
Monitoring
The Vendor Engagement &
Monitoring team at Gap Inc. is
comprised of more than 30 people
located in 12 countries, monitoring
working conditions in the factories
that do not participate in the Better
Work Program.
Minimum wage increase
That’s the number of U.S. employees
across our brands that will benefit
from our commitment to increase
the minimum hourly rate to $9 in
2014 and $10 in 2015.
Remediation
By using Better Work monitoring
assessments, the Gap Inc. Social
Responsibility team can focus on
capacity building and fixing any
issues that are identified.
Scalability
Gap Inc. has collaborated with
Better Work to monitor factories
in seven countries – Cambodia,
Haiti, Indonesia, Jordan, Lesotho,
Nicaragua and Vietnam.
Safety Conditions
In 2013, Gap Inc. partnered with 20
brands and retailers to improve factory
safety conditions in Bangladesh’s
garment industry through the Alliance
for Bangladesh Worker Safety.
Recycling and Composting
By recycling and composting at
our San Francisco headquarters,
we diverted 75% of our building
waste from going to landfill..

a group of leading apparel brands –
we’re quantifying the sustainability
impacts of garment design and
production.
