UFC Undisputed 2010 made a successful return
to the consoles with 3.1 million units shipped
worldwide, and made a strong debut on the
Apple App Store for gamers wanting to take
their UFC experience on the go.
In core games, we continued to build on
the Warhammer 40,000 brand with the
launch of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War
2 Retribution, bringing THQ to 6.5 million
units shipped for this PC franchise. We are
particularly excited about the increasing
potential for this critically-acclaimed brand as
we head towards the launch of our console
game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine in
fiscal 2012, and our Massively Multiplayer
Online game Warhammer 40,000: Dark
Millennium Online in fiscal 2013.
We continued to build our slate of online
and digital titles with the launch of our first
Facebook game based on the UFC franchise,
UFC Fight Nation. With more than one million
monthly active users, the game continues
to engage a growing and active community
online. We also recently announced that
we are working with Jimmy Buffett and his
team to bring his hit brand, Margaritaville, to
Facebook and mobile devices in fiscal 2012.
Positioned For Growth in Sales
and Profitability
We are confident that we are well positioned
to deliver significant revenue growth and
profitability in fiscal 2012 and 2013 and
beyond. Our growth will be driven primarily by
three areas: 1) a steady flow of games directed
at core gamers, 2) expansion of innovative
products like our uDraw GameTablet, and 3)
increase in digital revenues.
Our fiscal 2012 line-up includes the latest
installments of several multi-million unit
selling franchises.
In May 2011, we released the first game in
our line-up, MX vs. ATV Alive, which offers
a premium quality experience at a consumer
friendly suggested retail price of $39.99 in the
U.S. As part of our drive to create a digital
ecosystem around major game launches,
we are expanding on this quality game with
a robust offering of downloadable content
which will allow gamers to build their own
customized gaming experience.
We also shipped Red Faction: Armageddon in
June. This new installment of our popular core
franchise from our Volition, Inc. studio was also
featured as an original TV movie entitled Red
Faction Origins, airing on the SyFy Network.
Also scheduled in the first quarter, UFC
Personal Trainer provides players the
ultimate workout on the Xbox 360 Kinect and
PlayStation 3 Move.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, from
our award-winning Relic Entertainment
studio, is scheduled to launch in the second
fiscal quarter. This expands the Warhammer
40,000 universe to Xbox 360 and PlayStation
3 for the first time. The game has an
innovative range and melee combat system
positioning it to be one of the best action
games of the year.
Scheduled to arrive this holiday is Saints
Row the Third. With more than 6 million
units shipped worldwide, this franchise is
coming back with a vengeance, featuring
more intense action, more over the top
weapons, more wicked humor and a brand
new city to conquer.
Also for the holiday season, WWE ’12 marks
the re-launch of our WWE signature franchise
with improved in-game technology and a new
look and feel. Additionally, we’re exploring
new ways to expand the WWE interactive
experience on new platforms.
