Imaging Solutions
Outline of Business
Digital copiers, color copiers,
analog copiers, facsimiles, diazo copiers,
MFPs (multifunctional printers), printers,
scanners, and related supplies,
maintenance services, software, etc.
Performance
Sales of digital PPCs declined in Japan from
the previous year due to the replacement of
standalone analog equipment with MFPs,
but remained firm abroad. Sales of color
PPCs increased both in Japan and overseas as
a result of launching a number of new
models. Sales of MFPs rose primarily
because we introduced new models to meet
the demand for high speed, networking, and
colorization. Our laser printer sales also
grew. As a result, total sales for the Imaging
Solutions category increased by 8.6% from
the previous fiscal year to ¥1,446.6 billion
($12,364 million).

Personal computers, servers, network
devices, network software, application
software, support and services, etc.
Performance
Sales of solutions business, such as support
and service, continue to increase both in
Japan and overseas as customers have
embraced our solutions to optimize total
printing costs. On the other hand, sales of
personal computers and servers have
dropped in Japan. As a result, total sales for
the Network Solutions category decreased by
4.3% from the previous year to ¥190.5
billion ($1,629 million).

Overview
Domestic and overseas sales of color
PPCs, MFPs, and laser printers made
gains, as we responded to customers'
requests for operational improvement,
and the need to handle a greater
volume of electronic and color
information. In order to help customers
efficiently manage the TDV (total
document volume), the Ricoh provides
solutions to optimize the total printing
cost of customers. Sales of Office
Solutions as a whole increased by 6.9%
from the previous year to ¥1,637.2
billion.
Note: To help shareholders better understand the Ricoh
Group's strategies and results, the classifications of
consolidated business segments have been revised
from fiscal 2006.
Note: This segment includes Imaging Solutions and
Network System Solutions.
