As an integral enabler of Raytheons growth strategy,
the processes and tools of Raytheon Six Sigma help
train our employees to focus on improvement. Raytheon
has trained 1,300 employees as R6σExperts, and 57,000
employees as qualified R6σSpecialists, representing
more than 70 percent of the Raytheon population.
An example of the success that R6σcan bring to the
company and the customer is the Joint Standoff Weapon
(JSOW) Block II program. A Raytheon-U.S. Navy JSOW
team applied R6σtools and practices to reduce cost by
25 percent and produce the next generation missile
through parts reduction, reuse and robust performance.
In 2005, the JSOW team was one of 20 R6σprojects
honored with a Raytheon Six Sigma Award.
