Q
A
Under the program for growth, we will target growth by con-
centrating management resources in four focus fields, while
deploying our strategic alliances. In addition, we will allocate
¥26.0 billion of the ¥30.0 billion raised in the year under
review to strategic investments over the next three years.
In Solutions &Services, we will expand our services
business. Here, we have positioned cloud computing serv-
ices and ATM-LCM (Life Cycle Management) for financial
institutions and the public sector as key growth drivers,
and we will invest ¥8.0 billion in infrastructural and soft-
ware development for more effective service delivery. In
November 2010, we launched a cloud computing service
called EXaaS, and we have also started providing ATM-
LCM services to major financial institutions. These and
other initiatives reflect the smooth progress we are making
in this field.
In Mechatronics Systems, we will broaden the rollout of
cash recycling ATMs overseas. To this end, we will allocate
¥7.0 billion toward product development and production
facility investments aimed at expanding the features of
machines capable of handling banknotes in multiple cur-
rencies. In fiscal year 2010, we already carried out trials in
Central and South America, and in fiscal year 2011 and
beyond we will pursue a full-scale business rollout in that
region while further expanding sales in China.
In Printers, we will focus on MFPs (Multifunction
Printers). In addition to selling equipment, we will seek to
broaden our MPS (Managed Print Service) business. In fis-
cal year 2011, we will shift our marketing strategy for
Europe with the aim of boosting sales in major countries.
In Japan, meanwhile, we will pursue expansion of market
share. We are also considering business development of
applied products of LED printheads (used in printers) in the
field of display devices. In the Printers business, we will
allocate ¥8.0 billion towards product development and mar-
keting investments.
In EMS, our policy is to attract orders for high-end equip-
ment in the medical, telecommunications, and industrial fields,
where high quality and stable long-term supply are paramount.
Here, we will allocate ¥3.0 billion, mainly to expand and
upgrade production facilities. In fiscal year 2011, we will con-
tinue pursuing large-scale orders for high-end EMS business.
