Option Activity
Stock options activity under the stock option plans during the years ended December 31, 2011, 2010, and 2009 were as follows:
The aggregate intrinsic values in the table above represent the total pre-tax intrinsic values (the difference between the Company’s closing
stock price on the last trading day of 2011, 2010, and 2009 and the exercise price, multiplied by the number of shares underlying the in-the-
money options) that would have been received by the option holders had all option holders exercised their options on December 31,
2011, December 31, 2010, and December 31, 2009. This amount changes based on the fair market value of the Company’s stock. Total intrinsic
value of options exercised for the year ended December 31, 2011, 2010 and 2009 was $21.8 million, $16.9 million and $3.4 million,
respectively.
The total fair value of options vested during the years ended December 31, 2011, 2010 and 2009 was $9.8 million, $9.1 million and $9.0
million, respectively.
