recently installed at the famed Vienna,
Austria Konzerthaus, which hosts
some 750 performances and more
than 600,000 visitors annually.

AND THE OPERATORS OF WORLD-CLASS PERFORMANCE,
SPORTING AND COMMERCIAL VENUES.
Innovative audio solutions and systems
integration expertise make HARMAN
Professional a consistent performance
leader both on and off the stage. The
division continued its strong delivery
during fi scal 2011 with dozens of
new products and milestone audio
installations around the world.
These achievements helped drive
a 17 percent increase in net sales
and a 25 percent increase in
Operating Income.
HARMAN Professional scored a triple
play for major world events during the
scal year, with installed audio systems
at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa,
the Commonwealth Games in India,
and the Shanghai World Expo in China
where HARMAN also served as offi cial
sponsor. Collectively, more than 100
million people at these events alone
enjoyed front-row seats thanks to
HARMAN systems.
The division’s systems also shared
center stage at such diverse events at
the GRAMMY® Awards, Miss Universe
Pageant, MTV Music Video Awards and
the Super Bowl XLV halftime show.
Wide-ranging entertainers performed
with HARMAN systems during the year,
including Justin Bieber, Josh Groban,
Conan O’Brien, the Boston Ballet,
and the Royal Netherlands Air Force
Orchestra. HARMAN Professional
products were recognized during Fiscal
Year 2011 by several leading industry
publications and trade associations.
At the core of this performance
is HARMAN’s strong track record
of innovation and the division’s
leadership in such breakthrough
technologies as Ethernet Audio Video
Bridging (AVB) which allows robust
networking, monitoring and control of
hundreds of devices across complex
installed systems. Other HARMAN
innovations enable control and tuning
of audio system components from
any point within large performance
venues via wireless iPad® or iPhone®
interface. HARMAN’s HiQnet
communications protocol provides the
integration platform through which
diverse system components may be
controlled from a single user interface.
