Awards & Accolades
2011 marked a year lled with continuous accolades
for Cobra’s innovative products. In the mobile
communication and navigation categories alone,
Cobra products received awards from the Industrial
Designers Society of America, Popular Mechanics,
Mac|Life Magazine, Consumer Electronics
Association and Trucking Magazine.
The Cobra iRadar™ Detection System, for instance,
the rst detection system to combine radar, laser,
and speed and red light camera detection
technology with the power of iPhone
®
and Android™
smartphones, was recognized by the prestigious
Industrial Designer Society of America (IDSA) with a
2011 International Design Excellence Award (IDEA).
This award was the seventh award for design and
innovation bestowed upon Cobra iRadar since its
market introduction in the fourth quarter of 2010.
Another successful product, named an Editor’s
Choice Award by Popular Mechanics and the runner
up at the wireless industry association’s CTIA Hot for
Holiday Awards, is the Cobra Tag that leverages the
power of smartphones and Bluetooth
®
technology
to help protect phones and other valuable personal
belongings. The new Bluetooth tracking system
is powered by Phone Halo Technology linking a
smartphone to a person or their tagged belongings.
It functions as a two-way alarm and loss prevention
device between Android™, BlackBerry
®
or iPhone
®
smartphones and the owner.
And yet another award winner, the Cobra JoyRide™
for Android smartphones is a car charger designed
to intelligently customize the way the owner’s
smartphone behaves when entering and exiting
their vehicle by automatically reconguring
the phone for in-car usage. Cobra JoyRide was
recently recognized by the Consumer Electronics
Association with a prestigious International CES
Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Award,
demonstrating the continued innovation Cobra
brings to the marketplace. Also, Cobra JoyRide was
just demonstrated in the Android stand at Mobile
World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Spain.
