Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. And at the
restaurant level, our 1,801 restaurant teams support
local causes in their communities through in-kind
donations and volunteer hours.
Within our own organization, the Brinker Family
Fund continued to provide critical assistance to
coworkers facing financial difficulties. Team members
have the opportunity to donate to the fund through
payroll deductions of as little as $1. In the decade
since the fund was established, more than $5 million
has been distributed to Brinker team members
in crisis.

Last year marked Chili’s fifth annual “Create-A-
Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer” campaign – a
nationwide drive in which guests were invited to
donate $1 or more to color a pepper coloring sheet
for display in the restaurant. Funds were also raised
through the sale of special-edition gift cards
and T-shirts. And on September 25, 2006,100
percent of Chili’s profits went to St. Jude. Chilis
franchise and supplier partners also made
significant contributions to the cause. When all
was said and done, the total was a record-breaking
$5.2 million – the largest corporate contribution
to St. Jude from a single partner campaign. This
year for the first time, Chili’s will also be involved
with the Thanks and Giving campaign. The fall
campaign, which also benefits St. Jude, occurs on
the heels of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a
new research and treatment facility in the works at
St. Jude – the Chili’s Care Center.
