Ray A. Griffith
President and CEO
Griffith joined Ace in 1994 and has
spearheaded all retail aspects of the
corporation, along with merchandising,
retail support and international. He
previously served as president of Coast
to Coast. He is a graduate of Southern
Illinois University, where he earned a
bachelor of science degree in business.
Rita D. Kahle
Executive Vice President
Kahle joined Ace in 1986 and over
the years has overseen the finance,
retail support, technology and other
wholesale areas of the corporation.
Prior to Ace, she worked for Peat,
Marwick, Mitchell & Co. Kahle
earned a bachelor of science degree in
accounting from the University of
Illinois and is a Certified Public
Accountant.
Jimmy Alexander
Vice President Human Resources
Twenty-seven-year Ace veteran
Alexander assumed his current
role overseeing human resources,
community relations and organizational
development and training in 2001.
Previously he held a variety of
positions within Ace’s merchandising
department. He is a graduate of Bradley
University with a bachelor of science
degree in marketing.
William J. Bauman
Vice President Retail Support
Bauman was named vice president
retail support in 2005, overseeing
Ace’s network of retail support centers
across the country. He is a 31-year
Ace veteran, having spent his Ace
Hardware career overseeing various
areas within distribution and
information technology.
Michael C. Bodzewski
Vice President Advertising,
Marketing and Company Stores
Following 21 years at Ace in the
merchandising arena, Bodzewski was
named vice president advertising,
marketing and company stores in
2004. He holds a bachelor of science
degree in business economics from
Purdue University and a master’s of
business administration degree from
Roosevelt University. He retired from
Ace effective January 2006.
Lori L. Bossmann
Vice President Merchandising,
Marketing and Advertising
Bossmann was named vice president
merchandising in 2000 and as of
January 2006 also oversees the
advertising, marketing and public
relations areas for Ace. Her previous
14 years at Ace were spent in the
finance department. Prior to Ace,
Bossmann was employed at KPMG
Peat Marwick. She earned a bachelor
of science degree from Northern
Illinois University and is a Certified
Public Accountant.
Michael G. Elmore
Vice President
Information Technology
Elmore joined Ace in 2005 with 20
years of experience in the information
technology sector. He has held various
executive and management positions
with Pep Boys, Lowe’s Companies, Inc.
and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. He is a 1986
graduate of the University of Arkansas
with a degree in computer science.
Ronald J. Knutson
Vice President Finance
Knutson joined Ace in 1995 and was
named to his current role as vice
president finance in January 2006.
Prior to Ace, he was employed as a
senior manager with KPMG Peat
Marwick. He is a graduate of Illinois
State University and is a Certified
Public Accountant.
Arthur J. McGivern
Senior Vice President
General Counsel & Secretary
McGivern joined Ace in August 2004.
Prior to Ace, McGivern held executive
positions at First Union Securities,
EVEREN Securities, Kemper Corp. and
Beatrice Co., and also was a partner
at the Vedder, Price, Kaufman &
Kammholz law firm. He holds a law
degree from the Northwestern
University School of Law and a
bachelor of science degree in business
administration from Xavier University.
David F. Myer
Senior Vice President
International and Paint
In his 25-year Ace career, Myer has
held a variety of senior management
positions in the retail support,
distribution, traffic, paint and
international arenas. He earned a
bachelor of science degree in business
from Indiana University and a master’s
degree in administration from
Kent University.
Kenneth L. Nichols
Vice President Retail Operations
Nichols was named vice president of
retail operations in 2000. He has spent
his 28-year Ace career working on
retail initiatives on behalf of Ace
retailers. He received a bachelor of
science degree in communications
from State University College of
New York.
Daniel C. Prochaska
Vice President Supply Chain
Prochaska was named vice president
supply chain in 2005. He has been
with Ace 11 years and previously
held positions with May Department
Stores Co. and Payless Shoe Source.
He earned a bachelor of science
degree in business administration
and a master of science degree in
industrial psychology from Emporia
State University.
Michael A. Zipser
Vice President Retail
Development, New Business
and Company Stores
Zipser joined Ace in August 2004,
following an extensive career in the
retail arena. He served for five years
as vice president of stores for Borders
Group, Inc., and also has held executive
positions at Office Max, Inc., and
Montgomery Ward & Company. Zipser
holds a bachelors degree in business
administration from Hofstra University,
as well as master’s of business
administration degree from the
University of Miami.
