Corporation common stock, Standard & Poor’s (S&P) 500 Index, and the S&P Aerospace &
Defense Index.
(2) The cumulative total return assumes reinvestment of dividends. In March 2011, we completed
the HII spin-off. Our shareholders received one share of HII common stock for every six shares
of our common stock held on the record date. The effect of the spin-off is reflected in the
cumulative total return as a reinvested dividend.
(3) The S&P Aerospace & Defense Index is comprised of The Boeing Company, General Dynamics
Corporation, Goodrich Corporation, Honeywell International Inc., L-3 Communications,
Lockheed Martin Corporation, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Precision Castparts
Corporation, Raytheon Company, Rockwell Collins, Inc., Textron, Inc., and United
Technologies Corporation.
(4) The total return is weighted according to market capitalization of each company at the
beginning of each year.
