THE BLUEPRINT FOR
Fluors Industrial & Infrastructure business is driven by a trend that predates our
company by hundreds of years—population growth and the resulting urbanization.
For centuries, populations have migrated increasingly toward city living, driving
the need for major infrastructure development, manufacturing plants and the
raw materials that are the building blocks of these endeavors. NO MATTER
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE SHORT TERM, URBANIZATION WILL CONTINUE TO
ACCELERATE. PROJECTS WILL GROW IN SIZE AND COMPLEXITY, AND WE WILL
BE THERE TO DELIVER. It is against this backdrop that Industrial & Infrastructure
reported $6.6 billion in new awards, a backlog of $10.5 billion, and $476 million
in segment profit.
