13. COMMITMENTS AND CONTINGENT LIABILITIES
At March 31, 2001, the Group was contingently liable for trade
notes and export drafts discounted with banks in the amount
of ¥4,337 million ($34,976 thousand) and as guarantor of
others for bank loans and trade liabilities in the amount of
¥1,943 million ($15,669 thousand).
14. SUBSEQUENT EVENTS
At the annual shareholders’ meeting held on June 28, 2001,
the Company’s shareholders approved the payment of a cash
dividend of ¥12.50 per share aggregating ¥3,395 million
($27,379 thousand) to shareholders of record as of March 31,
2001.
