the best value. By oering the right mix of Cardinal Health
branded products and preferred products from our trusted,
national brand partners, we’re helping customers reduce costs
without compromising quality.

From product sourcing to order management, we are
constantly working to drive costs out of the supply chain.
And now, especially, Cardinal Health is focused on helping
customers mitigate the impact of rising commodity
costs by maximizing operational eciencies, leveraging
our logistics expertise and sourcing key products from
multiple manufacturers. We also help customers evaluate
product alternatives and standardize their products and
processes where appropriate to help reduce costs further.

In every step of the process, we work to create eciencies in the
supply chain. Whether it’s time, space, amount or movement, we
help customers make better spend and distribution decisions to
help drive down the cost of providing quality care.
Through our ValueLink® supply management services, for example,
we align on-hand inventory with true demand. ValueLink® services
bypass the traditional hospital storeroom and put the products
directly where they need to be — in the hands of clinicians at the
point of care.
Using ValueLink® services, our customers’ central supply inventory
sees an average reduction of 20 percent, and the average reduction
in supply purchasing activities may be as much as 37 percent.

With OptiFreight® logistics, our full-service freight management
program, we’re dedicated to reducing healthcare freight costs. Our
team’s in-depth knowledge of logistics and freight transaction data
enables us to help customers develop long-term cost reduction
strategies. And our dedicated account managers continuously
analyze freight activity to help identify improved ordering patterns,
channel utilization and delivery mode optimization.
