47 Credit risk continued
All loans and advances are categorised as either:
– neither past due nor individually impaired;
– past due but not individually impaired; or
– individually impaired, which includes restructured loans.
The impairment allowance includes allowances against financial assets that have been individually impaired and those subject to collective impairment.
Credit risk loans comprise loans and advances to banks and customers 90 days overdue or more and those subject to individual impairment. The coverage
ratio is calculated by reference to the total impairment allowance and the carrying value (before impairment) of credit risk loans.
