The value assigned to other acquired intangible assets for acquisitions completed during 2011, primarily for
customer lists, VOBA and technology intangibles, totaled approximately $584 million, of which $443 million is
preliminary pending the finalization of purchase price allocations.
We estimate annual pretax amortization for other acquired intangible assets over the next five years to be as
