Service regarding these amounts due under the Revenue Forgone Reform Act of 1993. However, there has
been no final legislation enacted regarding the 2013 appropriation requests.
During 2012, the Postal Service recognized $69 million in revenue, including $23 million of imputed interest,
from the appropriations, compared to $119 million, including $24 million of imputed interest in 2011. In
2010, $113 million was recognized in revenue, which included $24 million of imputed interest. The revenue
forgone receivable is included in the Balance Sheets as “Receivables: U.S. Government.” The total
receivable for revenue forgone was $463 million in 2012, of which $78 million was classified as current
assets. In 2011, the total receivable was $467 million and the current portion was $74 million.
