a major energy provider to
wholesale markets in the
Midwest, Northeast and
Mid-Atlantic, its important to
remember that Virginia is home
to more than 60 percent of
our total generating capacity
and represents 41 percent of
our revenues.
We work to keep that base
strong—an effort that has
captured national attention
among developers. For the third
consecutive year, Dominion
Virginia Powers economic
development program earned
a spot among the nations
“Top Ten,” according to
Site Selection magazine, a leading
publication for site location and
real estate professionals. Last
year, the company’s support to
state and local agencies helped
create more than 7,400 new jobs
with an estimated investment
of $1.5 billion in our Virginia
service area. We won the award
as Virginia prepared to open
its doors to retail electricity
competition.
