Day in, day out,
we deliver
Energy delivery is not a nine-to-five business. It’s an all hours of the day, all seasons of the
year kind of business. On any given day, at any given time, millions of people depend on
us. They depend on us for energy. They depend on us for growth. They depend on us for
service and reliability. And we consistently deliver. Every single day.

CENTERPOINT ENERGY S&P 500 INDEXS&P 500 UTILITIES INDEX
The graph illustrates the value on 12/31/06 of $100 invested in the common stock of CenterPoint Energy (and its predecessor)
and each index on 12/31/01. CenterPoint Energy began operating as a stand-alone entity on 10/1/02. The 12/31/01
CenterPoint Energy value includes our formerly integrated electric utility and our former unregulated business. Prior to
12/3/02, we distributed to shareholders our remaining equity in our formerly regulated retail electric sales business and
our unregulated wholesale electric and trading businesses, Reliant Resources, Inc., and in January 2003, we distributed to
shareholders 19% of our ownership in our formerly regulated electric generating business, Texas Genco Holdings, Inc., the
remainder of which was sold for cash in 2004-05. The calculation of CenterPoint Energy’s total shareholder return assumes
dividends were reinvested in company stock and treats the distribution of Reliant Resources, Inc. common stock in 2002 as
a $1.38 per share cash dividend and the distribution of Texas Genco Holdings, Inc. common stock in 2003 as a $0.4925 per
share cash dividend. Historical stock performance is not necessarily indicative of future price performance.
