We continue to have exciting opportunities to further expand and enhance the
core American Eagle brand. For example, we are the denim destination brand for
our customers, nearly doubling our market share in this category since 2003.
Last year, AE jeans became the number one specialty store brand purchased by
15-25 year olds. We are very proud of this and will continue building upon this
success. Yet, our objective is to reinforce AE as a destination by building
brand-defi ning categories across other areas of our business as well. In 2006,
we are focusing on the knit business, such as polos, graphic Ts and tank tops,
categories where we believe there’s tremendous opportunity to drive growth.
After achieving the #1 market
share in jeans, we look to
make AE a destination for
other powerful categories.
