DEAR FELLOW SHAREHOLDER:
j2 Global was founded nearly fourteen years ago with the vision of providing our customers more efficient
and secure messaging and communication capabilities on an outsourced basis through a compelling value
proposition. This vision has proved to be particularly pertinent in the current economic climate, where
individuals and businesses are more focused than ever on cost-savings and enhanced productivity. Our long-term
focus on adhering to sound business practices within our own operations and providing unambiguous value to
our customers has helped us navigate this difficult economic environment while we continue to grow our
business and expand the value proposition we deliver to our customers.
Some highlights for our Company in 2008 included:
• Thirteenth consecutive fiscal year of revenue growth
• Year-over-year revenue growth of 9%
• Seventh consecutive fiscal year of positive and growing operating earnings
• Improvement of our gross and operating margins by 70 and 140 basis points, respectively
• Expansion of our network to over 3,100 cities in 46 countries around the world where customers can
obtain service through local telephone numbers
• Addition of the Phone People®branded service to our growing Onebox®and eVoice®suites of
services in the value-added voice services market
• Strengthening of our proprietary IP holdings
We’re very proud of our achievements in 2008. The support of our fellow shareholders, the hard work of
our employees, the loyalty of our customers, along with the efforts of our vendors and partners, have once again
allowed j2 Global to look at the past with great pride and towards the future with cautious optimism. We at j2
