2015 compared to 2014
Discontinued operations attributable to Vonage. The loss
from discontinued operations attributable to Vonage decreased by
$7,061, or 75%. The loss from 2015 was due to $500 of costs associated
with the wind down of our Brazilian operations in the first quarter of 2015
related to contract terminations and severance-related expenses, a loss
on disposal of $824 related to the write-off of the noncontrolling interest
of $907, foreign currency loss on intercompany loan forgiveness of $783,
and residual cumulative translation of $192, partially offset by a tax
benefit of $1,058 and a lower portion of loss attributable to noncontolling
interest due to a reduction in ownership percentage. The loss from 2014
was for the operating loss from our discontinued Brazilian market.
