RESULTS OF OPERATIONS
TAX SERVICES – This segment consists primarily of our assisted and DIY tax return preparation - in-person, online,
desktop software and mobile applications - and related services to the general public primarily in the U.S. and its
territories, Canada, and Australia. This segment also includes the activities of HRB Bank, which offers retail banking
services, primarily in support of the U.S. tax business.
CORPORATE AND ELIMINATIONS – Corporate operating results include net interest income and gains or losses
relating to mortgage loans held for investment and residual interests in securitizations, interest expense on borrowings,
other corporate expenses, and eliminations of intercompany activities.
DISCONTINUED OPERATIONS – Discontinued operations include our previously reported Business Services
segment and discontinued mortgage operations.

includes approximately 131 thousand and 141 thousand returns, respectively, in both company-owned and franchise offices which were accepted by the client after
April 30. The revenues related to these returns were recognized in fiscal years 2016 and 2015, respectively.
