SERVICEMASTER 2005 ANNUAL REPORT P.10
Chairman’s Letter
Our affirmative answer to the business model question is endorsed
every day by our residential and commercial customers. Our confident
“yes” to the growth question is evident in our escalating expectations
for revenues and earnings growth in 2006 and 2007. As for the
sustainability question, we have noticed that there is a point in the life
of every top-quartile company at which the ability to meet double-digit
growth expectations is accepted as a foregone conclusion, and the
stock price moves accordingly. We are not yet top-quartile, and our
stock price does not yet reward us for presumed sustainability. We will
do our part to get us there – by performing as we transform, building
on an earnings growth trajectory that is heading, in our newly updated
expectations, into the mid-teens.
Our future is bright and in our control. Our Strategic Business
Framework will guide WHAT we do and our Corporate Objectives will
guide HOW we do it. Adding these to an aligned leadership team
excites us and makes us confident about our future.
